Action Figure ART WORK - PART ONE !!!

Besides collecting action figures as a favorite hobby, I also like to take pictures of figures and display them in an artistic setting , especially if a certain setting applies to a specific character . The following are a few examples .
He-Man transformation with background lightning .
Moss Man in his natural environment , a forest setting .
Birdie from the Street Fighter video game franchise , hanging out where you might expect him to , in an alley way on the city streets.
Alfred from the Batman franchise, working on his laptop in the mansion . ( NOTE ) Even though it's NOT the Wayne Manor Mansion , inside of a mansion is where one will normally find Alfred .
The REAL Kobe Bryant can not walk the city streets without being mobbed by thousands of fans, unless he wears a disguise of course , lol . However Kobe the action figure can walk anywhere and not be bothered . That is if he was real of course, lol .
Next up are pictures of action figures with real comic books in their hands , or at least the covers .

For those of you whom may not know , making these comic books this size is easy to do . Here are the steps you must take .
( 1 ) Scan any comic you wish to choose , most likely the front cover, into your computer's hard drive.
( 2 ) When you get ready to print the covers, set your printer's features to print at the sizes you see in the above pics .
( 3 ) After the comic covers are printed in this miniature size , take a pair of scissors and carefully cut the covers out of the paper they're in, and that's it . You're done . These are the steps you must take to make these covers, because that's exactly what I did to make them .
If you want an action figure to hold them , make sure you choose a figure with an open fist that has very little space between the thumb and index finger .
I hope you all enjoyed this article . There will be more of these in the future .

Action Figure Tribute to Kobe Bryant !!! Plus a look back at the NBA Heroes Kobe Bryant Review .

Since future NBA Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant recently retired , I decided to pay tribute to him in action figure style. For those of you who may have missed my review of the NBA Heroes version by Jazwares back in 2015 , here is a link to that review http://actionfigureimagerytoyreviews.blogspot.com/2015/01/nba-heroes-kobe-bryant-review.html .

The Jazwares NBA Heroes Bryant is the only action figure of Kobe that I own in my collection .  Of course there are more figures of Kobe by other companies, especially the Mcfarlane figures . The following are a look at a few . ( NOTE ) These pics do NOT belong to me. They are from other sites around the web . I'm just using them as reference .

Those All Star Vinyl figures seem to be like an anime version of players, because they look more cartoonish looking than realistic . The 12 inch Enterbay figures are the most realistic action figures I've seen , along with Hot Toys. That version of Kobe Bryant is also expensive , around the 200 dollar mark . Kobe is not the only big name athlete to retire this year . Future NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning also retired this year, although I do not own any action figures of Peyton Manning . If some company makes a 6 inch version of Peyton with similar articulation to the Jazwares Kobe figure, I'll definitely will buy one . And it does not matter rather he is in his Indianapolis Colts or Denver Broncos uniform , as long as the figure is cool and comes with a removable football helmet .

WWE Elite Hall of Fame 2005 - Jimmy " Mouth of the South " Hart REVIEW !!!

I've been wanting an action figure of Jimmy Hart ever since Mattel acquired the WWE license back in 2010 . Now that he's finally here, I am thrilled to add another manager figure to my collection. Hart is the second figure of managers in my collection. Paul Heyman was the first. Besides Jimmy , other WWE Mattel managers that have their own action figures are the aforementioned Heyman , Teddy Long and Paul Bearer as build a figures . I purchased this figure of Jimmy Hart at a local Target for around 19.99 . I was shocked to see a figure of Hart, because I saw no advertisements for this figure at all over the internet. Not even Ringside Collectibles mentioned him . I did not know a Jimmy Hart figure existed, so I was both surprised and glad to see him .

As you can see Jimmy was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 . Plus he seems the be the only  " First time in the Line " figure in this new Hall of Fame series , as Ted Dibiase and Randy Savage already had action figures of themselves in the line. What's odd however is that the words " First time in the Line " are not on the packaging , which are usually there whenever a never before made figure is introduced . Not sure what happened , either the words were forgotten to be placed or the decision to not present them was an option . The WWE Hall of Fame series in my opinion have some nice looking background blue inserts as shown below.
Now for a look at the Jimmy Hart figure out of the packaging.

A very cool action figure in my opinion . I love having figures with one hand open and the other a closed fist . Different hand gestures allow for multiple display options . I love how his hair stands high off of his forehead , just like the real life person . Also, notice how the packaging did not mention the mega phone . Depending on how you view things, one could say that Jimmy comes with one or more accessories . If you stretch his arms to the side or raise them above his head, the jacket can be removed if you prefer to remove it . The tie is bendy and the waist band can rotate . If you wish to remove the waistband then you may have to cut it off with some scissors . As for the glasses / shades , you do not have to worry about them falling off of his face , because there are slit openings in his sideburns that hold them in place . Wow, I just made a rhyme without trying to , lol . Have a look at Jimmy without his shades below .
If you look closely you can probably see the open slits in the sideburns that I was referring to . They definitely help keep the glasses secure on his face. Jimmy having a lot of hair made this option possible too. I wish that some of the past figures with glasses had this luxury or something similar to it . The facial expression displayed is perfect for poses with the megaphone, with his mouth wide open as if he is screaming instructions to one of his wrestlers. The wide eye look gives a feeling of nervousness or urgency. Great job by the design team . Below are some poses of Jimmy as if he is talking or screaming instructions through the megaphone.

It is difficult to get the megaphone nearer to his mouth then the above pics show. What is seen above is as close as I can get the megaphone to his mouth. This does not bother me however, because it still looks as if he is screaming or giving directions with the above poses . Now for more detailed looks at the jacket, the back and the interior .

I assume the writing of Jimmy's name on the back is a copy of the real Jimmy's hand writing .It is amazing of the things that toy designers can do with toys these days . Throughout his tenure as a WWE Manager , Jimmy Hart has managed many wrestlers over his career . Below are some comparison shots of Hart standing side by side to a few of his wrestlers that I have figures of in my collection .

Above are just a few of Hart's wrestlers that join him in this line . These guys are not the only Hart wrestlers available as figures in this line, there are more . I'm sure just about all of you know who these guys are but for those whom may not , pictured from top to bottom are Earthquake , Kamala the Ugandan Giant , Ravishing Rick Rude , and finally The Iron Sheik , in that order .
                                                       FINAL    THOUGHTS

(1) ARTICULATION - Hart has the same basic excellent all around articulation that all WWE Elite figure have. Even better news is that the jacket and waistband does not hinder the movements .

( 2 ) STANDING  ABILITY - The figure stands very well with no balance issues .

( 3 ) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - Finally owning a WWE Mattel version of Jimmy Hart is a luxury itself . He is a Hall of Famer after all and legendary manager . MY favorite features about this figure is the facial expression with the wide open eyes and mouth , perfect for screaming poses with the megaphone. I love the design of the jacket and the megaphone, and the idea that the glasses stay firmly in place .

( 4 ) WHAT  I   LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - There is nothing that I dislike about this action figure .

( 5 ) WHAT  COULD  HAVE  BEEN  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THE  FIGURE ? Nothing . No need for improvements, Hart is perfect the way he is .

( 6 ) GRADING  SCALE - A Perfect TEN !!! I could find no flaws .

( 7 ) FINAL  ANALYSIS - It is always a great feeling to finally own a figure that I have been wanting for a long time . Especially action figures of managers . Glad to finally have Hart , although I am still waiting on action figures of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan , Mr. Fuji , among others . Hopefully they'll come soon or one day .

DC Comics Multiverse - Earth 23 Superman Review !!!

DC Universe Classics may not be dead after all . With the DC Multiverse franchise , between it and DCU Classics, looks like the only thing that has changed is the name , as the six inch scaled Multiverse figures uses the same body molds as the Classics . Even the concept of ( build a figure ) is back, however with DCU Classics the concept was known as " collect and connect " . Ever since the Classics line ended with the Doomsday figure as the last figure in that line, this Earth 23 Superman is the first brand new ( never before made ) six inch scaled figure to be introduced in the Multiverse line . I purchased this Earth 23 Superman from a local Walmart for around the twenty dollar price range .

Earth 23 Superman is another character from an alternate universe . For those who may not be familiar with the alternate universe settings in today's super hero comics, he is not from the same universe as the original Superman . From the looks of the bio on the back, it looks as if he has the same powers as the original Supes, however there is no mention of x-ray vision or freeze breath .  Earth 23 Superman is one of the newer  characters in the DC Universe, introduced to the public in 2009 .The artwork on the packaging along with the figure does kind of resemble President Obama , since the bio mentioned him being U.S. President of Earth 23 . So according to the bio, not only is this guy a super hero, but he's also a politician . Now for a look at the figure.

A neat looking action figure. I love the light blue colored uniform , since blue is one of my favorite colors. Notice the details with the curls and waves in his hair, very nicely done . Also if you look closely it looks as if he is wearing body armor underneath his suit. You'll notice once you view his shoulders and biceps. Even though it looks cool, logic wise why would he need body armor ? He's a super man . I assume the armored look is there to keep the costume from looking bland and too plain looking, to add some pizzazz to the look . As you can see, Earh 23 Supes is right at the six inch mark . He seems to be just a little tad shorter than the average DCU Classics figure , as you will see in a moment . Earth 23 Superman came with one accessory, the build a figure piece for the Justice Buster figure, its left leg .
One odd difference that you will notice about Earth 23 Superman is that his cape is not fit squarely over his shoulders like the average caped super hero . It sits behind him on the back of his shoulders instead , take a look below .

An odd look indeed , never seen anything like it before. I can't say that I like the look, but it's not bad either . Now let's see how Earth 23 Superman looks standing next to some DCU Classics and an original Superman figure itself .

Notice that when compared to the original Superman , the S on the chest logo colors are reversed . Also as you can see Earth 23 Supes is taller than the Robin figure, which has the teenage body mold. However it looks like he is just a tad bit shorter than the Aquaman figure . Finally, even though Earth 23 Supes is my first six inch scaled Multiverse figure, it looks as if the base for the necks are designed differently than the Classics, as seen below .

Like I already mentioned, it looks as if the necks will be fitted onto a base this time. No problem I'm okay with this, as long as it does not affect or hinder articulation , which it does not .
                                                             FINAL   THOUGHTS

( 1 ) ARTICULATION - Earth 23 Superman has the exact same basic excellent all around articulation as any DCU Classics figure .

( 2 ) STANDING  ABILITY - The figure stands very well on any surface with no balance issues .

( 3 ) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - The light blue color in his uniform , the armored look under the suit and the luxury of having a NEW DCU Classic styled figure and character for the first time in a long while .

( 4 ) WHAT  I  LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - There is nothing that I dislike about this figure .

( 5 ) WHAT  COULD  HAVE  BEEN  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THIS  FIGURE ? For the first time ever , I have no answer for question number five . I do not know because I never heard of this character before .  And since I knew nothing about this character until his figure came out, it is difficult to judge what could have been done for improvements .

( 6 ) GRADING  SCALE - A Perfect 10 . Cool action figure with no flaws .

( 7 ) FINAL  ANALYSIS - It looks like DCU Classics is back under a new name, Multiverse . Let's hope that Earth 23 Superman is the first of many DC six inch scaled Multiverse figures to come , especially for those that were not made in the Classics line .
