Destiny Vanguard Mentor Zavala Review !!!

This figure of Zavala is based on the video game franchise known as Destiny . Although I am not familiar with the franchise or this character, I purchased this figure anyway because I like collecting six inch scale figures even if I do not know the character . When I purchase figures in a situation that I do not know the character, the reasons will be either the figure is very cool looking or I like the accessories, or both . I purchased this figure of Zavala at a local GameStop at a discounted price for around thirteen or fourteen dollars and change .

As you can see on the back of the packaging , the toy maker is McFarlane toys and the video game maker is a company known as Bungie .
Even though the workers at this GameStop did not remove or update the $ 19.99 price tag , I was still able to buy this figure at a discounted price as previously mentioned .
Overall I think Zavala is a very cool looking figure . Looks like his whole body is heavily armored and very well protected with the exception of his entire head . He also reminds me of a famous villain character from another franchise . A customizer could easily transform Zavala into Mr. Freeze of Bat-Man fame . He reminds me so much of Mr. Freeze that all he needs are the black rimmed glasses with the red pupils, and the clear helmet over his head than all of a sudden there's the complete look of Mr. Freeze .
Close up of Zavala's face . It's also a unique look for someone's eyes to be the same color as their skin . Although two different shades of blue, Zavala's blue eyes blend in nicely with his blue skin .
As you can see Zavala stands right at six inches tall .
Left side view plus an interesting design for the attire. The shield attached to the shoulder is perfect for protecting his head against enemy attacks, but what about the right side ? One would think that he would have the shields onto both of his shoulders, not just one, for maximum head protection. This is why I find this design odd to say the least . Cool looking but odd .

I really like the look of Zavala's rifle .
The figure stand Zavala comes with .
Zavala fits in really well with figures from other six inch scaled lines . Here he is next to a Marvel Legends Forge .
The above piece of paper comes packaged with the figure. Below is the other side of the sheet .
Above is a description of a redemption code for an in game item . The website for the item if you're having difficulty seeing the URL it is http://bungie.net/redeem
                                                      FINAL   THOUGHTS

( 1 ) ARTICULATION   LIMITS  -  No upward head movement . Can look down just a little.

( 2 )  STANDING  ABILITY  - He stands really well once positioned properly onto hard surfaces. No need for the figure stand .

( 3 ) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE  ? - I really love the look of the shield on his left shoulder pad . His battle armor is nicely decorated and I think his rifle is really cool looking .

( 4 )  WHAT  I  LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - No dislikes .

( 5 )  WHAT  COULD  HAVE  BEEN  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THE  FIGURE ? -  Add upward head movement. Improve downward head movement .

( 6 ) GRADING  SCALE  - Even though I'm not overly crazy about this action figure, I give Zavala a Perfect 10 only because I could find no flaws that bother me.

( 7 )  FINAL  ANALYSIS  -  It's great to see six inch scaled figures from a company mostly known for seven inch scaled figures . Hopefully the trend will continue .

My favorite San Diego Comic Con 2019 Reveals !!!

(  NOTE  )  The pics posted in this post DO NOT belong to me. Credit is given to the websites known as Toyark , The Fwoosh, Ringside Collectibles and Marvelousnews.com . Below are pictures of some of my most favorite reveals from this year's show from certain toy lines . I also include small dialogue on certain figures .  The toy lines featured are in no particular order - Marvel Legends , WWE Mattel , Star Wars the Black Series and DC Multiverse .
                                         First the WWE Reveals
Love the accessories he comes with .
Looks like another cool looking Trish Stratus figure is on the way .
Classy Freddie Blassie finally debuts in the line.
A Gorilla Monsoon figure would be great to have in your commentator's booth .

The third or 4th Ronda Rousey figure in the line looks pretty good.

Chyna is finally on her way after all of these years. I've been wanting a figure of her since the line started back in 2010 .
I hope the Hurricane comes with his cape . If not that's a disappointment but I'll still purchase this figure and add it to my collection .

Love the hat almost as much as the figure itself .

Old school Vince McMahon . Back from when he did ring commentary and interviewed wrestlers back in the 1980s .
Another cool looking Lita figure on the way .

 Finally a referee figure .

This is the best looking Becky Lynch figure in my opinion so far . Even though I have the first Becky Lynch figure they made, this version is way more up to date. I reviewed that first Becky Lynch figure back in 2016 and if you've missed that review here it is ------  BECKY LYNCH REVIEW
Greg " The Hammer" Valentine is finally on his way .
                                                NEXT  UP  -  Marvel  Legends
Squirrel Girl is my favorite SDCC 2019 Marvel Legends reveal . Not only does the figure itself look really cool , but she comes with some cool accessories - a couple of squirrels and a motor scooter .
I missed out on the classic Toybiz vulture so now is the time to add this character to my collection . I still plan on buying that rare Toybiz version one day though also .

I'm not familiar with the character known as Dani Moonstar, however I will definitely be purchasing this figure to finally have Wolfsbane in the collection .
This Polaris figure looks much better than the first one in my opinion .
                                                        NEXT  UP  - DC  Multiverse
Poison Ivy and the Michael Keaton version of Bat-Man .

This Alfred figure is my favorite DC reveal . I love all of the extra heads that he comes with . I love the luxury to be able to display any version of Alfred . The accessories are nice too .
Finally the Star Wars Black Series
At the time of this writing it is not yet official that the Rancor figure is on his way, however he was displayed at the Star Wars Black booth .

Well, there you have it. Some of my favorite reveals from SDCC 2019 !!!

Marvel Legends - Skullbuster Review !!!

When I first saw Skullbuster I thought he was a variant version of the Captain America villain known as Crossbones . I immediately thought it was Crossbones with a different look. I'm the type of browser that view the pictures of an article first before reading the dialogue . Then once I read the dialogue and discovered that I was looking at a character I knew nothing about , bout thought he was really cool looking . This was back when Skullbuster was first revealed at one of the Cons or Toy fairs.  I purchased this figure of Skullbuster at a local Walgreens for around the $ 19.99 price range . You can purchase Skullbuster thru my Entertainment Earth Affiliate link by clicking the following link ------    Purchase Skullbuster here !!!

If you're having difficulty seeing the bio dialogue it says " An enemy of the X-Men , the Skullbuster is a member of the villainous gang called the Reavers .

I really love this action figure despite not knowing of his existence at first . Skullbuster is really cool . Even though his body is a re-used mold of Deathlok , he feels and looks like a completely new figure . There are quite a bit of fun features to like about this figure . The spikes on his right shoulder pad, along with his cybernetic look  are nice features. You also have the luxury of displaying him with his gun in hand or in his holster .
From a distance it looks as if Skullbuster is wearing a mask , however when zooming up close you can clearly see that his face is painted with makeup , or warpaint , depending on how you view the situation .
As you can see Skullbuster stands a little over six inches tall .
Above the right arm of the Caliban build-a-figure .
This head packaged with Skullbuster is that of his Reavers teammate known as Murray Reese . The goggles are movable and can be removed . When I first saw this head I was thinking to myself that it may be the real face of the Skullbuster. I did not know I was looking at the head of a completely different character . I discovered the real identity of the head by watching Shartimus Prime's Youtube Review on Skullbuster. Another great luxury of the extra head other than belonging to another character is that the goggles can be placed onto the head of another figure if that is your wish . If you look around the web, most collectors suggest using the body of the Marvel Legends Nuke figure for the head of Murray Reese .
As you can see Skullbuster is armed to the teeth. Just look at all of those golden bullets. Plus he has lots of cartridges for his gun . I also love how those gold bullets , from a distance actually resembles real bullets . They actually look like real shiny metal bullets due to the lighting from the camera flash .
Skullbuster standing next to one of the figures in this wave along with one of his main X-Men enemies , known as Forge .
                                          FINAL   THOUGHTS

( 1 ) ARTICULATION  LIMITS  - Excellent all around articulation .

( 2 ) STANDING  ABILITY -  Stands very well with good balance.

(3) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - The spikes on his right shoulder pad , his cybernetic features especially the hands. I love the vest along with it's features such as the cartridges. I like that's it's removable with the luxury of placing it onto other figures . Plus the extra Murray Reese head is great to have .

(4) WHAT  I  LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE  ? - No dislikes .

(5) WHAT  SHOULD  BE  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THIS  FIGURE ? -No improvements needed .

(6) GRADING  SCALE  - A  Perfect 10 I could find no flaws .

(7)  FINAL  ANALYSIS  -  Hopefully the rest of the Reavers will be on their way soon .
