DC Comics Multiverse - Wonder Woman Series Queen Hippolyta Review !!!

If I'm not mistaken , this is the very first action figure EVER of Wonder Woman's mother . At least in the six inch scale . This figure of Hippolyta is based on her motion picture movie appearance in this year's Wonder Woman film . She is also part of the Ares "collect & connect " wave . I purchased this figure of Hippolyta at a local Target for around the $ 19. 99 price range .

As you can see she is more than just Wonder Woman's mom , she is also Queen of the Amazons . Hippolyta is also a very cool action figure .

Hippolyta is just a gorgeous action figure. I love the bright vivid colorful mixtures of gold and brown in her attire . In my opinion the figure's face does not favor the actress 100% but it is still a very good likeness and is still a great facial sculpt . Just look at the excellent job Mattel has done on her hair . As for accessories, Hippolyta comes with her two weapons, a sword and a spear, along with collect & connect pieces of Ares . She comes with his right arm and right leg . Below a closer look at her weapons.
I guess you could consider her robe as an accessory too. As a matter of fact I think that anything that is removable on an action figure maybe should be labeled as an accessory . Speaking of Hippolyta's robe, you can remove it if you prefer to .

You can remove Hippolyta's robe as shown above . Just pull her arms to her back as shown, raise up her hair and pull downward on the robe to remove it . Now you have the options of putting it back on or on another figure . It's up to you as now you have multiple display options on how you want to pose her on your shelf or desk . Now for some looks at her without the robe .

Looking at Hippolyta , she reminds me of another queen from another franchise . Queen Grayskull from the Masters of the Universe Classics, AKA Veena . Almost the exact same colors on both characters . Even though the robe looks good on her , it does sort of restrict a little leg movement because it is a hard rubbery plastic. It seems like she stands a little better too without it , because the robe adds a little extra weight to the figure, causing a little top heaviness on the lower body .
                                                      FINAL  THOUGHTS
(1) ARTICULATION - Along with having no ab crunch , the head seems to be the only limited point of articulation with no up and down movement.

(2) STANDING  ABILITY - Depending on how you want to display her, she stands better without the robe as previously mentioned . The skirt piece sort of hinders leg movement just a little too. Adjust the legs for a proper stance .

(3) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - The beautiful colorful mixtures of gold and brown in her attire . Nice weapons . Just a beautiful overall figure with multiple display options for posing .

(4) WHAT  I  LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - No dislikes.

(5) WHAT  COULD  HAVE  BEEN  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THE  FIGURE ? - Make the robe a little lighter by using softer plastic.

(6) GRADING  SCALE - A PERFECT 10 !!! Despite my complaints about the robe, which looks great although it hinders some leg movement as previously mentioned, the pluses about this figure outweigh the minuses .

(7) FINAL  ANALYSIS - Queen Hippolyta seems to be the figure that is the hardest to find of this series . I visited quite a few stores before this Target and they had all of the figures except for the Queen . This figure in the review was the only figure of her left from the Target it was purchased from . May the rest of you have luck finding her like I did .

DC Comics Multiverse - King Shark Series - Joker Review !!!

I'll admit I was NOT excited about this figure when I purchased it. I already own two figures of the Joker character in my collection so the excitement was not there. My main reason for the purchase is because of the build-a-figure - KING SHARK. King Shark was the reason I purchased this figure, I want the King in my collection. However once I opened the Joker figure out of the packaging I was pretty impressed with him . Cool figure !!! I purchased this figure of The Joker at a local Walgreens for around the $19.99 price range .

It's nice to see toy packaging being diverse these days with the packaging dialogue. Not only do they have Spanish spellings of the Joker but some of the other characters as well. Now for a look at the figure out of the packaging .

As already mentioned, this is one of those figures that when viewing it while still in the packaging, you may not be all that impressed. However once out of the packaging you're impressed with it. That's how I felt about this figure. Since this figure is based on artwork by a particular artist, it seems odd to see The Joker kind of buff and bulky . He usually is always drawn as tall and very skinny . This artist did not see him that way apparently . This is the Joker's look based on the Dark Knight Returns comic book series . He looks like he's flat footed but there're heels on his shoes. The figure is fun to hold in your hands because of it's bulkiness . Below a closer look at the accessories .

Joker comes with quite a few accessories including the collect & connect piece for KingShark , which is his upper torso .  As you can see he also comes with a knife, a pistol and a small bat-a-rang used to pierce  the Joker's right eye  in the comic, in which you see the above head from that incident . You can re-enact that incident with the bonus head and the bat-a-rang. Now for some comparisons with this Joker and an earlier Joker figure from this Multi-verse line.

The older figure is what we're used to seeing, a tall and skinny Joker without the faded haircut . This newer Joker figure in my opinion would be great for customers that want to make some suit and tie muscle bound body guards .
                                                 FINAL    THOUGHTS
(1) ARTICULATION - The only point of articulation that seems limited is the up and down head movement . He even has hidden articulation which is an ab crunch underneath his jacket .

(2) STANDING  ABILITY - The figure stands very well despite heels.

(3) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - The bulky feel of the figure makes it fun to hold . The idea of being able to customize this Joker figure into a bodyguard for any of the other Joker figure seems tempting in a fun way .

(4) WHAT  I  LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - No dislike .

(5) WHAT  COULD  HAVE  BEEN  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THE  FIGURE ? - No improvements needed .

(6) GRADING  SCALE - A PERFECT 10 !!! I was not even sure if I was going to review this figure at first but after removing it from the packaging I thought otherwise .

(7) FINAL  ANALYSIS - There is also a DC Direct version of this exact same Joker that debuted several years ago. You can decide which one is the best between this current version and that one, as I do not have that version in my collection for comparisons .

Review of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Character Guide and World Compendium!!!

Even though this item is not an actual action figure or a toy itself, it is still "TOY-RELATED" in the form of a book. So since it's "toy-related", it deserves a review . I have been excited about this book since it was announced. A guide to every Masters of the Universe character ever. From all canons of the franchise. From the toys, books, cartoons, every single character , place, artifact, etc . is included. The book is scheduled to be online at Amazon.com on May 23,2017 . However I was able to obtain my copy at a local comic book shop for around $ 49.99 . Prices may vary depending on where you purchase .

As you can see everything is in order up to seven chapters . The contents of the book itself lasts up to 698 pages of your reading entertainment, almost 700 pages. The final couple of pages include  advertising the other Dark Horse Masters of the Universe hardcover books .
The section you see above is a very cool bonus, a family tree of the Royal Family of Eternia. It shows up in the book after Grizzlor's profile . Characters from Filmation, Mike Young Productions along with other media such as the mini comics and magazines are included in this section.
Overall I think this character guide is a dream come true for every MOTU fan. It does not matter rather you are a fan of the toys, the cartoons, the comics, you'll love this book. This book can also be used as a guide for anyone who has not completed their MOTU Classics collection . Because every character has pictures of their MOTU classic figure included in their profile. So this is a good way to see if there are any figures or characters that may be missing from your collection. So not only is this book a good read but it is also a great guide for collectors of the MOTU Classic line.
Although this is a great book, it could have been better . The only flaw I have about it is that I was expecting it to be very similar to The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe series. However it is slightly different in some aspects from that series . For example, ( SPOILER ALERTS coming up ) if you want to know how tall every character is and how much everyone weighs, expect to be disappointed because those physical character statistics are not included . Also I wish that there was more details about the powers and skills of characters . For example, don't just tell us that Skeletor has magical powers, tell us what can he do with those powers. Can he shoot fire out of his finger tips, lightning bolts, etc . Give us an example or examples of what his powers can do .
Another flaw is when describing He-Man, it has martial arts as one of his skills however it does not mention what book or cartoon episode where he has displayed martial arts . It does tell you that the martial arts skills are from Filmation, but not what episode and that is what bugs me. Despite these very few flaws this is still a VERY , VERY FUN  BOOK to read and enjoy . YOU HAVE THE POWER to enjoy this book too and I guarantee as a MOTU fan that you will !!!  Although this is a very short review, I can't go into too many details spoiling things for you, so I figured a quick brief rundown is fair enough . So BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL , BUY this book if you're a MOTU fan !!!

WWE MATTEL - The Natural Disasters EarthQuake and Typhoon Review !!

Even though these two figures did not come together in a package, as do many of the WWE Mattel tag teams come separately . Typhoon and Earthquake are formerly known as the tag team called the Natural Disasters . The Earthquake figure is mainly a re-paint, as you will see. I purchased both of these figures at a local Walmart for around the $ 19.99 price range . First we'll have a look at Earthquake.

I'm not going to spend too much time reviewing Earthquake in this review because as mentioned he is mainly a repaint of his original action figure which I've already reviewed . As you can see, the only differences other than a new outfit, is that the original has no knee pads whereas the newer Quake does. Plus the accessories they come with. Original Quake came with Jake "the snake" Roberts pet snake and a bag whereas the newer Quake comes with a tag team championship belt . If you missed the review of the original Earthquake figure , here it is in the following link - http://actionfigureimagerytoyreviews.blogspot.com/2015/11/wwe-mattel-earthquake-review.html .
Now on to Typhoon .

The man known as Typhoon also had other aliases .  He was also known as Tugboat and the Shockmaster . Both of the Natural Disaster figures seemed to have been slimmed down just a little bit compared to the actual real life men. However they both look cool and do not share all of the same body parts despite being similar in size . Pay attention when putting both figures side by side and you'll notice that Typhoon's arms are bigger than Earthquake's arms . Now for a look at the two figures together.

Look closely and you'll notice as mentioned that Typhoon has different arms. Different bigger arms. Other than that difference it looks like they share the same other body parts . The only accessory they both come with are the championship belts .
                                                       FINAL   THOUGHTS

(1)  ARTICULATION - The only points of articulation that seems limited on both of these figures is the up and down head movement . Other than that the rest of the articulation is very good.

(2) STANDING  ABILITY - Both figures stand really well with no balance issues .

(3) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  BOTH OF  THESE  FIGURES ? - Just the luxury of having these guys in the collection . I've wanted action figures of these guys ever since the WWE Mattel line started, so to finally have them is somewhat of a dream come true. A terrific successful big man tag team that dominated the other teams with their massive size and strength .

(4) WHAT  I  LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THESE  FIGURES ? - There's nothing to dislike for me .

(5) WHAT  COULD  HAVE  BEEN  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THESE  FIGURES ? - Make them the actual exact same size as the real life men . The figures seem to be just a little slimmer than the real guys. However I am not bothered by this they still look cool regardless .

(6) GRADING  SCALE - A PERFECT 10 for both !!! Very pleased with both figures.

(7) FINAL  ANALYSIS - It feels great to finally have one of the biggest ( literally ) tag teams in WWE history in the collection . Not only were they big, strong and tough but were also champions, as the proof is with the figures because of the championship belts.
