Marvel Legends - Angela Review !!!
This is a review of a figure that won a contest that fans voted for. A little over a year ago, Hasbro put up this selection of characters to see who fans would like to see made. Angela came out on top. If you want to look back into the past and view the details of that contest, you can here at these following links , this first link is a look at when the contest started - http://actionfigureimagerytoyreviews.blogspot.com/2015/07/vote-for-next-marvel-legend.html . This second link is when the contest ended showing Angela winning - http://actionfigureimagerytoyreviews.blogspot.com/2015/08/angella-won-recent-marvel-legends-poll.html . I see that I spelled Angela's name incorrectly in that second post. I spelled it like Queen Angella from She-Ra . My bad . Also if you look back you can see that ANGELA was exactly who I wanted to win. I got my wish and here she is. I purchased this figure of Angela at a local Walmart for around the $ 19.99 price range .
Angela also made a little history by being made. I'm not referring to the contest, however, but the fact that she is the first Marvel Legend to be made that did NOT debut as a Marvel character . I'm sure that many of you already know that Angela is a character that is originally from the Spawn franchise. Marvel somehow purchased the rights to this character from Spawn's creators , then all of a sudden she is a Marvel character . And the rest is history as they say. As you can see Marvel would make Angela a Guardian of the Galaxy member . Now for a look at Angela out of the packaging .
As you can see Angela comes with the right leg of the Titus build-a-figure . Is it just me, or does Angela looks like she does not belong in the Marvel world ? She looks as if she should be a Conan or Masters of the Universe character instead of a Marvel character , with her sword and sorcery like attire and looks . However according to her Wikipedia profile, she is supposed to be an angel, thus her name . Because of the nature of her background, Angela is a very tall female character . The toy is tall and so is the character . The character is listed at 6"2, and the toy does a nice job of staying true to her height . Speaking of the toy, she is very well done. Angela is so cool I think that both kids and adult collectors will like her. Although I do not recommend this figure for real young kids like 4 or under because of the small parts such as her weapons. Speaking of weapons she comes with some nice ones. A sword and two machete like bladed weapons. The sword is a soft rubbery plastic and is not hard . We have the option of storing her sword in her sheath on the back of her skirt piece, or displaying her posing with it in either hand. She is very amazon like with her size, and her armor is sort of Wonder-Woman like . The pics below are a perfect example of proving that Angela is indeed an amazon .
As you can see Angela towers over an average height character like Dr. Strange . Even though she looks human, however when you view her bio you'll discover she's an Asgardian according to Marvel. Back to the subject of Angela's attire. The skirt piece can be moved around and removed. The sheath is attached to the belt on her skirt piece. The cuffs around her elbows are movable. Her shoulder pads feel as if they are glued on however could be removed with some force. The item around her neck can easily be confused with her hair since they're almost the exact same colors.
FINAL THOUGHTS
(1) ARTICULATION - The only point of articulation on Angela that seems somewhat limited is the upward head movement, hampered a little by her hair.
(2) STANDING ABILITY - Angela stands very well with no balance issues.
(3) WHAT I LIKE BEST ABOUT THIS FIGURE ? - Her sword and the ability to hold it with either hand. The gold colors of her attire . She's very well decorated with her armor . Plus if you'll notice real carefully she has a muscular build just a little to go along with her height , giving her the look and impression of a true amazon .
(4) WHAT I LIKE LEAST ABOUT THIS FIGURE ? - There's nothing I dislike .
(5) WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO IMPROVE THE FIGURE ? - No improvements needed .
(6) GRADING SCALE - A Perfect 10 !!! I could find no flaws .
(7) FINAL ANALYSIS - Even though Angela won that contest, the runner-ups have been made into figures as well . So if Hasbro has another contest like this again, let's all show our support by voting, because even the non-winners still became Legends .

Marvel Legends - Nova ( Sam Alexander ) Review !!!
The following is not the first Nova Corps figure in the Marvel Legends line. The first Nova was a full grown man. This one is a teenager known as Sam Alexander . I purchase this figure at a local Walgreens for around the price range of $ 19.99 .
As you can see Nova is part of the Titus build-a-figure wave. Now for a look at the figure out of the packaging.
As shown Nova comes with the torso of the Titus build-a-figure. I think that probably the coolest feature of this figure is the smallish, skinny but muscular teenage build. Hasbro has finally got it right when making teenage bodies. A perfect example is the first Miles Morales Spider-Man figure. The first Miles figure had the body of a small man but not a teenage boy. They got it right with the second Miles figure with the correct type of teenage build. This Nova figure shares that same body / mold as that second Miles Morales Spider-Man figure . I like the fact that both of Nova's closed fists are great for fighting poses, along with flight poses too because flying is one of his super powers . I also love the gold trim on the costume. The gold colors shine nicely under good light . Nova also comes with a little robotic buddy of his. Below is a closer look at that character.
I know nothing of this character, however if you want to find out more some Youtube videos by some fellow toy reviewers can help. I recommend going to Jay C of ToyNewsi Youtube channel. He did a video review of this Nova figure, and in it he mentions this little guy's name and even give a little small sampling of background information on the character . So he's not just a decoration piece, he is an actual character that is part of the Nova Corps, according to Jay C . Now for a comparison shot of Nova to another teenage character .
Above we see Nova being compared with another teenage character known as Kamala Khan AKA Ms. Marvel . I reviewed her too not too long ago on this site. Although Hasbro has finally got teenage bodies done correctly, they still got to get better with teenage women faces in my opinion. I think Ms. Marvel looks like an older woman instead of a teen, which she is supposed to be. Now for a look at Nova next to an adult Marvel character of average height and size.
Nice job again. Dr. strange is just an average height guy. Plus I say that is the normal height of an average 14 - 15 year old, which is the age range of Sam .
FINAL THOUGHTS
(1) ARTICULATION - There seems to be no limits on Nova's articulation. No restricted parts.
(2) STANDING ABILITY - Nova stands well with no balance issues. Him being flat footed with no heels also helps his balance.
(3) WHAT I LIKE BEST ABOUT THIS FIGURE ? The cool look of how the gold trimming on his costume shines under good light. The very realistic teenage build. The ability to display him in both fight and flight poses.
(4) WHAT I LIKE LEAST ABOUT THIS FIGURE ? There's nothing I dislike.
(5) WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO IMPROVE THE FIGURE ? A mask less head would have been a nice bonus, or make the helmet removable . He's still cool without this feature but it would not hurt to have it.
(6) GRADING SCALE - A Perfect 10. I could find no flaws .
(7) FINAL ANALYSIS - I would love Hasbro to continue to make Nova Corps members, this way us fans could slowly build a Nova Corps army, similar to DC's Green Lantern Corps.

Marvel Legends - Dazzler Review !!!
A character that I have been wanting as a Marvel Legend since the Toybiz days is finally here. The original look of Dazzler , in her 1970s white jumpsuit disco look . I purchased this figure of Dazzler at a local Walgreens for around the $ 19.99 price range .
Notice that the back of the packaging makes notice of Dazzler's roller skates, which really do not roll. More on that in a bit. As of the two scans of the card back, the bottom is a computer scan and the one above is a pic taken with my camera. Now for a look at Dazzler out of the packaging. Note that the orange insert indicates that Dazzler is originally an X-Men member .
As you can see Dazzler comes with the left arm of this series build-a-figure Warlock . Look wise, the figure came out great. Dazzler looks fantastic and very colorful. Literally you could say she comes with three accessories. A microphone, the necklace she wears and the rainbow colored piece for displaying her powers. The rainbow colored piece is a repainted often reused accessory that has been used with the likes of Dr. Strange, Enchantress, Scarlet Witch, among others. Each accessory has it's own background story to connect to the character too. The microphone is with her because as her secret identity of Alison Blaire she was a singer in clubs in her early Marvel days. Look real closely and you can see that the necklace has a small disco ball attached at the end of it. Her ear rings are sculpted onto her hair but are displayed next to her ears to give the illusion as if she is wearing them . Dazzler is a perfect likeness of her comic book self except for one thing. Maybe it's just me but I think Hasbro made her too tall. They should have made her legs a little shorter, because the character is listed to be at a height of 5"8 . In the pic where she's by the ruler you can see that she can easily stand over six inches tall. Of course it's the roller skates giving her that extra extra height, but still roller skates or no roller skates her legs should be shorter. Because she towers over quite a bit of the male characters, a perfect example in the pic below.
The above pic is proof that Dazzler is a little too tall. Even if she did NOT have the roller skates and was flat footed, she still might have ended up being taller than Dr. Strange . I hope Hasbro learn their lesson from these mishaps and improve on correcting character heights in future figures. However her being too tall is fine if you want to ignore her official Marvel stats and just be pleased with how great the figure is. But for those of us fans that want Hasbro to stay true to everything that Marvel does, we may be a bit disappointed that she is too tall . If you feel this way, you always have the option of making her shorter by making her stand with bent knees, just like the old school Masters of the Universe vintage 1980s figures. Now on to the subject of Dazzler's roller skates.
The skates look great just like the figure. Only one problem ,depending on how you want the action figure to be displayed, which is that the rollers DO NOT roll . They are sculpted on. For those of us that wanted them to roll, expect to be disappointed. However this may not be such a bad thing if you want her to stand properly without falling down. Imagine if the skates did roll then it may be nearly impossible to make her stand without falling . It's already somewhat of a struggle to make Dazzler stand with these sculpted on skates, so if they rolled then things may really get tough .So overall I only have two complaints about Dazzler, she's too tall and no roller movement in her skates. Other than those gripes she's perfect .
FINAL THOUGHTS
(1) ARTICULATION - Dazzler has nice all around articulation. The only POA ( point of articulation ) that is limited is that the upward movement in her neck is restricted by her hair.
(2) STANDING ABILITY - Getting her to stand properly without falling is somewhat of a challenge because she is not flat footed, because of the skates. The skates are almost as challenging as standing characters that have heels. So I recommend bending her knees a little, spread the legs out for a proper stance without falling. Once you get that perfect stance she stands well.
(3) WHAT I LIKE BEST ABOUT THIS FIGURE ? - A lot !!! I've wanted a Dazzler figure for a long time, so just the pleasure of finally getting her is more than enough . Plus I like how super cool she looks. I also love the microphone and necklace accessories.
(4) WHAT I LIKE LEAST ABOUT THIS FIGURE ? - She's too tall and that the rollers do not roll . However I can get over the rollers not rolling but the extra height will take a while to get adjusted to .
(5) WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO IMPROVE THE FIGURE ? - Make the wheels on the rollers roll and make her shorter .
(6) GRADING SCALE - If not for my two gripes Dazzler would have got a Perfect Ten score . But being too tall is bothersome, so I give her a score of 9.5 out of 10 . Still a great score, would have been lower if I was still bothered by the wheels not moving on her skates.
(7) FINAL ANALYSIS - Despite a few flaws, it is always a pleasure and luxury to own an action figure of a character that has been on your Wish List for a very long time. Dazzler is still worth buying despite the gripes .
