Also HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the moms out there. Before I get started on the review, I want to pay a small tribute to Mother's Day action figure style. I'll do it with acknowledgement to two famous mothers from the world of Masters of the Universe. The Sorceress whom is Teela's mom. And Queen Marlena being the mother of Adam and Adora . These two MOTU mothers have quite a bit in common authority wise. One is a Queen and the other is a powerful magician guardian of Castle Grayskull . But the most important thing they have in common is that they both are action figures. At the time of this writing, I wish I could say the same thing about one more mother from the MOTU / Princess of Power world . That would be Queen Angella, the mother of Glimmer.
Now on to the figures this post is about . The Bella Twins. One more Mother's Day reference before I continue. Since the Bella Twins are just that, twins, only a loving MOTHER, or father, would easily distinguish them from one another. Everyone else on the other hand, maybe or maybe not . At first glance it is kind of difficult to distinguish who is who .
I purchased this Bella Twins Battle Pack from a local Walmart for around $ 19. 99 . As you can see as I've already noted, they are very difficult to tell apart . When you remove them from the packaging both of their initials are displayed on the back of their shorts, however there are other ways to tell them apart. If you look closely, you'll notice that both of their hair styles are sculpted differently . Their smiles are also different. Brie Bella has a full smile whereas Nikki looks to displaying somewhat of a smirk . Nikki also seems to have fuller dimples. The Bella Twins come with one accessory. A championship belt .
I think it is more easier to tell apart the real Bella Twins then it is the action figures, however when you remove them from the packaging the differences seem to be a little bit more noticeable . Below are more comparison shots to see if you can notice the differences .
For those of you wondering , Mattel did NOT go cheap on us with these figures. The two faces are NOT the same if you pay close attention . Many may think that since they are twins that the company might go cheap and use the same heads for both bodies, however that is not the case in this situation . Besides looking alike, another similarity these two figures have in common are they both are about the same height, as you can see in the above pics.
The figures themselves are sculpted nicely with very decorative outfits, especially around the boots. Also the production of these two figures give the availability of female tag teams in this line a boost . First the Funkadactyls and now the Bella Twins .
( 1 ) ARTICULATION - Still waiting on an ab crunch for the female figures of this line, however the only point of articulation on these two that seem to be a letdown is the restricted head movement. It is tough to move their heads up and down and side to side due to the hard plastic hair . Other then this minor flaw the rest of the articulation is excellent .
( 2 ) STANDING ABILITY - There are no balance issues with these figures. As a matter of fact the extra weight on their ankles from the clothing allows perfect balance and steadiness when standing .
( 3 ) WHAT I LIKE BEST ABOUT THESE FIGURES ? Despite the fact they are twins, you can still tell the Bella Twins apart if you pay close attention to small details such as eyes, shape of the face, etc .
( 4 ) WHAT I LIKE LEAST ABOUT THESE FIGURES ? There is nothing I dislike about these Bella Twin figures.
( 5 ) WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO IMPROVE THE FIGURES ? Different outfits or different colored outfits would have made it a lot easier to know who's whom . But since the twins always wear matching outfits in real life, this option would not be staying true to the WWE franchise if it was implemented onto the figures.
( 6 ) GRADING SCALE - On a scale of one to ten I give the Bella Twins a 9.0 . The minus is for the restricted head movement on both of the figures .
( 7 ) FINAL ANALYSIS - Overall I am glad to add the Bella Twins to my collection . You get two nicely sculpted figures for the price of one, along with increasing the number of WWE divas to your collection . I'm sure more female tag team battle packs are on their way in the near future. Can't wait for more.
