Marvel Legends Nick Fury Review !!! Based on the Captain Marvel movie .

This version of Nick Fury as many of you know is based on the recently released Captain Marvel movie . A younger version of Nick , before the accident that cost him his left eye,etc . I have been looking forward to this figure since it was announced as I purchased it at a local Walmart for around the $ 19.99 price range .

If you're having difficulty seeing the bio it says " In the years following the Cold War , Nick Fury wrestles with his sense of purpose with S.H.I.E.L.D . When Nick crosses paths with Captain Marvel, they become Earth's only hope of stopping a Skrull invasion . "

As you can see Nick comes with three accessories. His pistol , Captain Marvel's cat all handcuffed and the right arm of the build-a-figure Kree Sentry .

This figure actually looks more cooler looking in person than it does on camera . His face is very detailed with jowls and wrinkles. Either I need to get a new camera or I must learn how to take better pictures , I'm all in for constructive criticism . Back to the figure, Nick is also a new body mold and is not a re-use of previous suit and tie figures . Evidence coming later in this review . Underneath Fury's jacket are what looks to be two holsters for his guns . The tie is bendable .

I love the realistic face sculpt and accurate likeness to Samuel L . Jackson . The only thing that Hasbro messed up on is noticeable in the above pic . It's his hair . The sculpt of the hair is fine along with the details such as curls or waves in his hair . I'm referring to the paint job on the hair . Look closely and you'll notice that pieces of the hair have been colored the same as his skin. From far away this mistake may not be noticeable but up close you can see the brown paint on his hair. Great figure Hasbro but the paint job must have better craftsmanship next time .

This current Nick Fury figure would make a perfect custom made Robbie Robertson . From the Spider-Man franchise, assistant to Peter Parker's boss at the Daily Bugle J. Jonah Jameson . The hairstyle of both men is almost exactly the same, you would just have to make Nick's hair into a white like grey , and alter or modify the face just a little , all of a sudden you have a custom Robbie Robertson . Another thing Hasbro could have done is packaged a Robbie Robertson head with Nick Fury. Fans could then decide rather they want to use the body for Nick or Mr. Robertson . Or buy two Nick Furys if they want both characters . Another similarity is that both men wear their ties untied . So Nick should make an easy Robbie custom .

As you can see Nick is NOT a reused mold of the Chameleon or any suit and tie figure . The above pic proves he is his own figure with his own mold . Not only is Fury taller than the other two guys, but the untied tie is also evidence of the figures not being the same mold .
                                                  FINAL   THOUGHTS  
(1) ARTICULATION  LIMITS  -  Excellent all around articulation .

(2) STANDING  ABILITY  -  Stands well once positioned correctly .

(3) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE  -  The perfect realistic likeness to Samuel L . Jackson. Having another suit and tie figure in the collection is also great for civilian characters when taking toy photography pics. I also love the idea that he can easily be converted into Robbie Robertson . Although I'm not good at customizing figures, but if I was I would have purchased two Nick Furys to make a Robbie Robertson .

( 4 ) WHAT  I  LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - The paint from his face got into his hair . A better paint job must be done next time on the hair and face separation .

(5) WHAT  COULD  HAVE  BEEN  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THIS  FIGURE ? - The aforementioned paint job on the hair . Plus a bonus extra Robbie Robertson head would have been nice .

(6) GRADING  SCALE  - A 9.8 instead of a Perfect Ten . The paint job on the hair gripe kept me from giving this figure a Perfect Ten .

(7) FINAL  ANALYSIS - Besides a custom made Robbie Robertson , customizers could also use this Nick Fury figure to re-create Samuel L. Jackson's character from the first Jurassic Park movie . Again great job Hasbro just do better next time with the paint job around the lining of a character's hair .

DC Collectibles cancels the comic based Luchadores figures.

I hate reporting negative news, however since this is an action figure website I will post major announcements in the action figure and toy world . DC Collectibles has cancelled their Luchadore figures that were shown on display at this year's New York toy Fair . The following pics are NOT my pics .

I myself am disappointed . I wanted the above cheetah lady figure more than the others. Bargain Hunt Deals Part One !!!

The following are three toy bargains I purchased from the discount store known as Bargain Hunt . The three are a PooPeez set, WWE Mattel Tito Santana and a Zorn action figure by Funko . It's amazing of how much of a discount you can get at discount stores, compared to the original prices, not just toys but any product . So if there is an old action figure that you want and do not have, check out your local thrift stores and discount stores before searching on Ebay or Amazon . You may be surprised at what you find, just like I was surprised at the wonderful prices .

These prices are fantastic!!! They look like 1980 prices of toys back in the day . The above toy is known as The Porta Potty Multi-Pack however those words have been covered up by the price tag .

Looks like I saved about ten dollars on this Tito Santana figure . With the average price of WWE Mattel figures at or around $19.99 to 20 dollars. GREAT DEAL !!!

I do not know the original price of Zorn , however six dollars is a deal no matter rather it's the original price or a discount .

The outhouse is the only reason I purchased the Poo-Peez  set , and not for the characters . I think those little characters are for kids and I'm too old for those . However I do not have the same feeling about the blue outhouse because it is a cool looking accessory that goes great in action figure photography with six inch scaled action figures .

My main reason for purchasing the Tito Santana figure is so that I can get closer to completing the good guy side of Hulk Hogan's Rock N Wrestling team . Even though all of the members of both Roddy Piper's team and Hulk Hogan's team from the cartoon have not been made yet into WWE Mattel figures at the time of this writing , it's great to have Tito in the collection finally . 

Besides wanting another member of Hulk Hogan's Rock N Wrestling, Tito is a great figure and has a cool shirt also . Now on to the Zorn figure .

As you can see there are two figures of Zorn, one known as Office Zorn and the other known as Warrior Zorn . The Bargain Hunt I went to did not have Warrior Zorn but at least an Office Zorn was available .

As I'm sure most toy collectors already know that Funko has been making toys recently in the same style as the old vintage Masters of the Universe figures .Everyone from their Mortal Kombat figures to this guy known as Zorn .  So I pulled out an old school He-Man vintage figure for comparison . Plus it seems like that some of Zorn's looks are based from He-Man anyway, however in a modified fashion . Almost the same type of hairstyle, but modified in how it's worn . Zorn's sword compared to He-Man's sword among other similarities between these two characters .

Even though the Funko franchise are making action figures in the vintage He-Man style, if you take a good look with the side by side comparisons you can see that both Zorn and He-Man are NOT the same mold. A totally new mold . These Funko figures are not reused Masters of the Universe vintage molds. Notice that Zorn is also bigger than He-Man . Bigger arms and a bigger upper torso .

Wow I did not know Zorn had a bald spot , LOL ( laugh out loud ) . Humor aside , I like the holster for his sword .

For those of you not familiar with Zorn this figure is based from the live action television show called the Son of Zorn in 2017 . It lasted only one season with only 13 episodes .

A look at how the vintage He-Man looks with Zorn's sword . The above pic is also perfect evidence of new molds by Funko . Even his hands are much larger than He-man's hands .
