MARVEL LEGENDS - Erik Killmonger Review !!!

I think that this is the very first action figure of the character known as Erik Killmonger . Not only is this the first ever Marvel Legend of the character, but it may also be the first Killmonger figure period . Here's a character that a lot of people knew very little about until the current hit Black Panther film has increased his exposure to fans along with his popularity . Plus he is a part of the build-a-figure wave in which the build-a-figure is that of another character in the movie, known as Okoye . I purchased this figure of Erik Killmonger from a local Walgreens for around the $ 19.99 price range .

I apologize for the poor lighting in the pictures where he is inside of the packaging. I really need to do a better job with proper lighting . I tried enhancing the photographic quality with my photo software, but to no avail . And I always throw the packaging away after I take pictures of them, because I do not have the extra space to store them , so by then it was too late to take the pictures over . If you can't see Killmonger's bio on the back of the packaging, it says " A warrior of physical and mental strength , Erik Killmonger slashes into battle with unrivaled intensity . " Now for a look at the figure out of the packaging .

I'll have to admit when I first saw this Erik Killmonger figure when it was first introduced to the public, I thought it was just a " variant" of the Black Panther himself in a differently designed costume . I did not know that it was a totally different character altogether . Because I had no knowledge of the Killmonger character until the movie and this Marvel Legend series came out . Speaking of the figure it is totally cool . There is another Erik Killmonger figure on the way later this year, an unmasked version shown at the 2018 New York Toy Fair . As you can see this version comes with the weapons he has in the film , along with an extra pair of hands along with the left leg of the " Okoye" build-a-figure . I love the very cool look of the gold trimmings on his costume and mask. It's also nice to see how the costume represents the panther identity with the scars on the costume. I'm not sure if those are scars from Killmonger's body showing through the costume or is the costume designed like that ? It's a cool look either way. For a moment the neck wear looks like it is either painted or sculpted on , however it is actually a movable piece of plastic . If you would prefer to remove it you would have to pry it off with force or maybe a pair of scissors . Now for a brief look at some poses of Erik with his weapons .

One of the best features to come with this Killmonger figure if not the best feature is that the extra hands allow multiple display and posing options . With the default hands , only his left is capable of holding the weapons . However with the extra hands , his right is posed the same way as his left, and vice versa . His extra left hand is posed the same way as his right . Therefore you can remove the default right hand and replace it with the extra right hand, so by doing this you can now display Erik with any weapon in his right hand . So if you want to display him with weapons in both hands, it can be done by switching the default hands with the extra ones .
                                                                    FINAL    THOUGHTS  
(1) ARTICULATION  LIMITS -  Excellent all around . No limits and I love the fact that his shoulder blades have the extra pivots so that his arms can be displayed multiple ways.

( 2) STANDING  ABILITY - The figure stands well with little to no balance issues .

(3) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - The extra hands allow for multiple display options and fighting poses , the weapons are cool . Along with the luxury of another new character being added to the Marvel Legend universe .

(4) WHAT  I  LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - Nothing disliked .

(5) WHAT  COULD  HAVE  BEEN  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THIS  FIGURE ? - An extra unmasked Erik Killmonger head . However this issue is about to be taken care of as the already aforementioned unmasked Killmonger figure is on the way .

(6) GRADING  SCALE - A Pefect 10 !!! Could find no flaws .

(7) FINAL  ANALYSIS -  Since the Black Panther movie is doing so well in the box office , can the popularity of the film help increase the purchases of not only Killmonger but the other Marvel Legend figures in this wave? The answer remains to be seen .
