This figure is not to be confused with the DC Multiverse Batman Vs. Superman 6 inch scale figure, which has more articulation and is more detailed , however this figure has a much lower price tag, being below double figures . I purchased this Wonder Woman figure at a local Walmart for under 10 bucks, around the 8 through 9 dollar price range , before taxes . As we all know, this Wonder Woman is based on the looks of actress Gal Gadot from this past week's Batman V. Superman movie .
As you can see there are three more figures in this series, two Batmen and one Superman . Also you can see the inner black and white art of either Metropolis or Gotham City . Not sure which city it's supposed to be however nice art!!!Now let's view the actual figure itself.
Depending on how you view things, Wonder Woman comes with two accessories, or three if you count her shoulder strap, which can be removed if cut with some scissors . Her sword fits well in either hand, and the shield can clip onto either wrist securely . If you want, you can use store her sword in the back of her shoulder strap if you prefer to display her without any weapon . As you can see, even though this Wonder Woman figure is in the six inch scale , she is a tad under six inches and just a little bit over five inches tall. Now for some comparison shots of this Wonder Woman to some past Wonder Woman figures .
Above are comparisons to a Wonder Woman variant from the DCU Classics line, from the Green Lantern sub line of the series and a DC Direct W. Woman . As you can see this current version is much shorter than those two . I purchased this current Wonder Woman figure as early as three weeks ago, however I'm just now getting around to reviewing it . The reason why is because I could not and still can not find my old DCU Classics original Wonder Woman figure for side by side comparisons . So I did a side by side comparison with two different pictures of the two figures instead.
The above picture of my DCU Classic Wonder Woman figure is an old pic I snapped years ago, still stored on my computer hard drive. As mentioned, at the time of this writing I still can not find her among thousands of action figures. I currently do not have the space to display all of my figures so the majority of them are stored in plastic crates/boxes . I like the colors on old school wonder Woman better, they are brighter blues and reds and are more vivid. However I think the newer WW ( Wonder Woman ) looks like more of a warrior than the original . Also she is not as skinny as the original. As a matter of fact , this new WW is not skinny at all. She is buff with bulging muscles in her arms and shoulders. You'll notice the muscle definition too if you own this figure . By the way, the above original WW figure is the same height as the variant shown earlier, it's just the way the pictures were taken making her look a lot taller than the newer one when in reality she is just a little taller, not a lot . Finally, let's see how this new WW looks around some of the older DC Mattel figures.
In tribute to the Batman V Superman movie, here's a comparison shot of WW with DC Super heroes versions of those guys. Not quite DCUC but the same height as Classics . She fits in well in my opinion with DCU Classics figures if you prefer to display her with them instead of the original Wonder Woman .
FINAL THOUGHTS
( 1 ) ARTICULATION - Both of her arms move up and down .Both elbows rotate and bend up and down. Both legs move up and down . No outward movement in legs or arms. Both knees bend up and down. Head slightly rotates left and right. No up and down movement .
( 2 ) STANDING ABILITY - The figure stands very well. No balance issues. Her boots allow her to stand well on any surface.
( 3 ) WHAT I LIKE BEST ABOUT THIS FIGURE ? - It's actually cooler than I thought it was . Before I opened the package, I was not expecting much to be thrilled over. However when I released her from the packaging I was like " wow " cool figure !!! I was impressed for a figure below the ten dollar price range, since the price was low I was not expecting much, however she is just as cool as a lot of twenty dollar figures .
( 4 ) WHAT I LIKE LEAST ABOUT THIS FIGURE ? - Although she has her limitations such as articulation and detail , such as her eyes not being white, there is nothing that I dislike about this figure.
( 5 ) WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO IMPROVE THE FIGURE ? - More articulation and detail . A bendable lasso that she can hold in her hand would have been a nice bonus. Although the lasso is movable .
( 6 ) GRADING SCALE - Despite the limitations WW gets a Perfect 10 !!! The main reason why is because she ended up being better than I expected, as explained in Final Thoughts number three .
( 7 ) FINAL ANALYSIS - Even if you already own several Wonder Woman figures, you'll be glad to add this version to your collection as well . And since she's cheap, customizers may want to purchase extras of her and customize her into other characters. Plus I love how this version of Wonder Woman is actually dressed like a real Greek warrior goddess . The outfit definitely has a Greek feel and vibe to it, much more so than the original .
